Q: How do I find out where my voting/polling place is for me?

A: We have included links for you to find your poling place. Each link is unique and allows you to search in your specifc county except for Kankakee County Clerks office does not have a searchable function on their website at this time.  However, the state of Illinois website will allow Kankakee coters to find their polling place.

Q: What do I need to know to vote in the March 19 2023 Primary?ic Primary?

A:Below are the thinks you as a voter will need to know to be elgible to vote.

  • You must be a United States Citizen.
  • You must be at least 17 years old on or before the date of the Primary Election and turn 18 on or before the date of the General or Consolidated Election (16 year olds may preregister to vote).
  • You must live in your election precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day.
  • You must not be serving a sentence of confinement in any penal institution as a result of a conviction.
  • You may not claim the right to vote anywhere else.

 

Q: How do I vote for Dr. Walters in the March 19, 2024, Democratic Primary?

A: To vote for Dr. Walters in the Democratic Primary, select the Democratic ballot at your polling place. This allows you to vote for her as your candidate for the 79th District.

After winning the Democratic primary, Dr. Walters will be on the general election ballot on November 5, 2024. In this election, all voters can support her, regardless of party affiliation, without needing to declare a party.

 

Q: How do I know if I'm registered to vote in Illinois?

A: You can check your registration status online or click here at the llinois State Board of Elections website or your county clerk’s office.

 

Q: What forms of identification may be needed when registering to vote?

A: If you register online in Illinois, you will only need to provide, you will need a valid Illinois driver’s license or state ID card to complete the process. If you don’t have these, you can still register online, but you will need to provide the last four digits of your social security number. Additionally, you will need to provide your date of birth and the address where you currently live. These are the basic requirements for online voter registration in Illinois. Two forms of identification with at least one showing your current residence address are needed when you register in-person.

If you register by mail sufficient proof of identity is required by submission of your driver’s license number or state identification card number.

If you don’t have either of those, verification by the last 4 digits of the your social security number, a copy of a current and valid photo identification, or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check, or other government document that shows your name and address will be required.

A person may also demonstrate sufficient proof of identity by submission of an identification card issued by a college or university accompanied by either a copy of the applicant’s contract or lease for a residence or any postmarked mail delivered to the applicant at his or her current residence address.

Q: How can I register to vote in Illinois?

A: You can register online, by mail, or in person at your local circuit clerk office, or DMV or a voter registrar. You can also click here to register on the Illinois State Board of Elections website for details.
